As of last night my portfolio had topped $98 million. Much as I'm excited about the pending $100 million barrier, I have a number of regrets. Let me get to the end of this, and then I'll explain a little more.
When I reach that $100 million figure, that's it. Lurker's gone. Gone from TT. Gone from the game. It's a good clean breaking point.
Now, why?
1) I don't want to be part of a place where a MMIKE can hold so much control over so many people. Ignoring him MIGHT work. HSX banning him WOULD work. How? Send him e-mail. Tell him if he doesn't clean up his act that he's gone. How? If not via banning his IP address, then by monitoring TT for a day or two, and simply deleting his posts. It doesn't take long for a troll to realize that if his posts are disappearing, then he has no reason to continue.
2) I don't want to be part of a place where a phenom like Jimmy Impossible can come straight from nowhere, and just by using his powers of programming, become a leader amongst players, a folk hero, only to have the rug pulled out from beneath him, toppling him like a statue of Lenin.
3) I don't want to be part of a place where the rules are made up on the fly. Will shorted Oscar options pay off? HSX knows. They know we want to know. They just don't want to tell us. Sure the puts/calls this past weekend worth $0 paid off, so it looks good. But the Oscar Nominoptions that delisted at $0 were, apparently, just removed from our ports. No reason if they did it for 50 or 60 losing options once, that they couldn't do it again. And the reset? We know they were considering their options. But they haven't come out and said for sure one way or another. Come on guys! Decloak and make a decision! And how long will shorting a stock make it go up? That just makes no sense.
I could go on. But it would mostly be repeating what the other respected HSX players (and The Prophets) have been saying for the past weeks and months. But I think my point is made.
So under $2 million to go. And although I'm hardly touching my port, I do have the shorted SMGEL.
Although a crash would keep me around a bit longer, this is just about the end of Lurker.
Adios!
Shalom!
Au Revoir!
Das ve Danya!
Peace!
